Emerged in the early 2000s, Gözyaşı Çetesi is one of the well known bands of alternative music scene of Istanbul. The band consists of Faruk Kavi on guitar, Barış Çakmakçı on keys, Umut Arabacı on bass, Sinan Tınar on drum, Anıl Dağ on percussion, and Pınar Balcı on vocal. By blending Anatolian psychedelia with African tam-tams and Berlin techno, their music takes listeners to an intercontinental journey. Their debut album, Garip Davam, was released in 2016. Karar, their much anticipated second album, was released in September 2018 on Tantana Records.
