Singer, songwriter, and producer, Gaye Su Akyol, brings traditional music, futuristic surf rock, and post-punk together. Gaye released her first album, Develerle Yaşıyorum, in 2014. She defines her music as "global in concept, local in spirit." Following the widespread critical acclaim for "Hologram Imparatorluğu", Gaye and her band spent 18 months travelling Turkey, Europe, and the Middle and Far East. She is the singer-songwriter, producer and audio/visual conceptualist of her third album "Istikrarlı Hayal Hakikattir", which translates as "Consistent Fantasy is Reality." The album combines influences from the Anatolian Pop/Anatolian Rock genre that emerged in Turkey during the 60s and the 70s with Turkish classical music scales and vocal aesthetics, various subgenres of rock, Turkish folk music tunes, the conventional guitar-bass-drums trio and percussions, and electronic beats. Gaye has praised by Pitchfork, The Observer, The Guardian, and Songlines.
