Years & Years is a British synth-pop band which consists of Olly Alexander, Michael Goldsworthy, and Emre Türkmen. The band initially came together in 2010 in London. The trio’s sound gained exposure when the single, "Traps", was released on Kitsuné music in 2013. Their second EP, "Real", came out in 2014. A year later, the band won BBC’s prestigious Sound of 2015 poll. That same year, they hit number one in the U.K. with their debut album, Communion. In 2016, they were nominated for four BRIT Awards and critically acclaimed for their music videos. They returned with their sophomore album, "Palo Santo", in 2018. The album combines futurism and pop, while offering solutions to current world problems. It also explores themes of science fiction, spiritualism, and identity.
